The first IRFFI Donor Committee meeting took place in Abu Dhabi on 28 February 2004 where the Iraq UN Country Team Strategic Plan was approved and the Donor Committee committed US$403 million. Subsequently, at the 2005 Dead Sea Donor Committee meeting additional commitments of $185 million was made. Since 2004, total deposits to the UNDG ITF have exceeded 1.4 billion.
Donors wishing to contribute to the UNDG ITF are required to sign a Letter of Agreement (LOA) with the UNDP Multi-Donor Trust Fund (MDTF) Office, as Administrative Agent of the UNDG ITF that sets out the terms and conditions governing the receipt and administration of the contribution. A total of 25 donors have signed a LOA with the MDTF Office.
Under the UNDG ITF, donors may earmark their contributions by sector and/or UN agency.
The UNDG ITF Administrative Agent consolidates and prepares progress reports in accordance with the timetable established in the LOA. The reports are compiled from the individual reports received by the Administrative Agent from each Participating UN Organization and delivered to donors and the UNDG ITF Steering Committee.
