The procurement of goods and services followed the Financial Rules, Regulations and Procedures of each Participating UN Organization. Participating UN Organization’s procured a variety of consulting, manufacturing, engineering and contracting services across the 8 thematic sectors: education, water/sanitation, health, housing, food security/agriculture, protection, governance and economic diversification.
When engaging in large scale procurement (typically over $100,000), the UN system follows international competitive bidding processes including:
- Invitation to Bid (ITB)– where companies are requested to bid against precise specifications;
- Request for proposal (RFP) – for consulting or similar services
